Singing Lessons

When and Where

I am available to teach from 9 am to 8 pm (UK times) – 10 am to 9 pm (Italy times).
I have a flexible schedule, message me and we’ll find a suitable slot for you!

I mainly teach ONLINE via Zoom or IN PERSON in Milan (zona Centrale/Loreto). I am also quite often in London or Rome, so we can also organise to meet in person there every now and then!

1 x 55 min lesson: £50

Pack of 5 x 55 min lessons: £225

Pack of 10 x 55 min lessons: £450

I also offer a limited amount of discounted slots if you have low income or are a student. Get in touch to check availability.

What Will I Sing?

There will be some warm ups and some technical exercises, but we would generally then sing a song and we can sing whatever you like! If you are just beginning, try to have an idea of something you might want to learn to sing, or something you are having difficulties singing. If you really don’t know where to start, I can give you some suggestions, but it would be preferable to start with something you like and know comfortably. If you can, please bring the sheet music to the songs you’d like to work on in your lesson. If you don’t know where to find them, we can get it during your lesson, but it does take up valuable time that could be used to sing. Alternatively we can use backing tracks (or karaoke tracks) that you can easily find on YouTube for most songs.

Some people fear online lessons are not as effective as in person lessons, but that is just a myth. All of my students have benefited equally from online and in person lessons, and you can too!
In fact, online lessons can have a few additional benefits:

– comfort: you can have them from home, avoiding the stress and cost of transport;
– consistency: you can have from anywhere. That means that if you’re on holiday or if you’re travelling often you can still attend classes;
– practicality: you’ll learn to sing in the same environment that you practice in
– efficiency: you can save time because you don’t need to get to the teacher’s studio. Also you can warm up prior to the lesson, saving some valuable time!

The only real difference is that I will not be able to accompany you while you sing, but that can be fixed with a few tricks, and by using backing tracks or working a cappella.

If you have never had online lessons you can help the lesson be smoother by taking care of a few bits:

– use a different device to play your backing track
– find a place where you have good internet connection and you can avoid being disturbed by noises or other people
– check your Zoom settings to set your Audio preferences as follows:

1 – Go to Zoom preferences and find “Audio”
2 – Scroll down to Microphone
3 – In Advance settings DISABLE (or set to the lowest setting) both of these options: Suppress Persistent Background Noise and Suppress Intermittent Background Noise. If you don’t have this options, select “Low” in the Suppress Background Noise Menu
4 – Deselect “Automatically adjust your microphone volume
5 – You can check the box where it says “Show in-meeting options to “Enable Original Sound” from microphone”. You’ll leave that ON.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a lesson, there is a 24 Hour Cancellation Policy, so please let me know at least 24 hours before your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. There are no refunds for canceled lessons if less than 24 hour notice is given.
